SP002 - Divine Tortoise

A talisman for protection and stability

The Tortoise is a highly potent symbol in many cultures. Many ancient civilisations believed that the Tortoise's shell encompassed the universe. The ancient Indians believed four Elephants stood on the shell of a great Tortoise to support the world. The Tortoise is one of the Four Sacred Creatures of China, along with the Phoenix, Dragon and Unicorn. It represents longevity, strength and indestructibility and is said to live ten thousand years. The Tortoise symbolises immutability and can be used as a talisman for protection and stability.

The pendant is cast in lead-free pewter, coated in copper, then nickel, then silver. Hand-polished and lacquered to prevent tarnishing.
