A talisman for wisdom and knowledge

A symbol of fertility and the primeval life force the Serpent is also a symbol of wisdom and knowledge. Many cultures believe that Serpents understand the earth's mysteries - the waters, darkness and the underworld - and the secrets of life. North Americans believed the Serpent was a spirit-messenger between humankind and the underworld. The Sagacious Serpent talisman can be worn to improve enlightenment and wisdom.

The design of this talisman is derived from ancient Chinese calligraphy from c .2000 BC.

The pendant is cast in lead-free pewter, coated in copper, then nickel, then silver. Hand-polished and lacquered to prevent tarnishing.
